1. Who we are

VOLT is based at Frederiklaan 10E, 5616 NH Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42132940.

VOLT is responsible for processing the personal data described in this privacy policy. For questions, contact us at info@voltapp.nl.

2. What data we collect

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

  • your email address;
  • your name, if provided;
  • your company name, if provided;
  • your role or position, if provided;
  • the number of locations operated by your organization, if provided;
  • the UTM parameters of the link through which you reached our website;
  • the time of your signup.

When you contact us by email, for example through our contact page, we process the personal data and other information you share with us.

We do not request more personal data through our forms than described above.

3. Why we process this data

We use your personal data to:

  • add you to the waitlist;
  • notify you when VOLT becomes available;
  • respond to questions and contact requests;
  • understand which channels bring visitors to our website;
  • improve our website, communications, and marketing channels.

For waitlist registrations, we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

You provide this consent by completing and submitting the waitlist form. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@voltapp.nl. We will then remove your data from our systems as soon as reasonably possible, unless we are legally required to retain it.

4. How long we retain data

We retain waitlist data until VOLT becomes available and you have had the opportunity to decide whether to continue using the product.

We retain this data for no longer than 24 months after signup, unless you request deletion sooner.

Data from contact requests is retained for as long as necessary to handle your request. We may then retain it for up to 12 additional months in case you contact us again about the same matter.

5. Who we share data with

We only share personal data with parties that support us in providing and improving our website and services. We do not sell your personal data or share it for third parties’ commercial purposes.

Waitlist registrations are stored with Notion Labs, Inc., which acts as a data processor on our behalf.

Our website is hosted by Netlify, Inc.

The content of our website, including text and pages, is managed through Sanity. Sanity does not generally process personal data submitted directly by visitors through our website.

We use Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and tracking technologies. Depending on the tags configured within it, data may be processed by Google or other service providers.

Where legally required, we enter into data processing agreements with parties that process personal data on our behalf.

6. Transfers outside the EEA

Some of our service providers, including Notion, Netlify, and Google, may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.

Where personal data is processed outside the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place. These may include:

  • participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework;
  • Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;
  • other legally permitted transfer mechanisms.

These safeguards are intended to ensure that your personal data continues to receive a level of protection comparable to that provided within the EEA.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses functional cookies that are needed for it to work, such as remembering your language choice and your cookie preferences. These do not require consent.

We only place analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity) and marketing cookies (LinkedIn Insight Tag) after you consent through our cookie banner. We manage these tools through Google Tag Manager.

You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or delete cookies in your browser settings. What data these tools process and how long we keep it is described below under Analytics, cookies and consent.

8. Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration.

These measures include:

  • encrypted connections through HTTPS;
  • restricted access to systems that process personal data;
  • secured accounts and access credentials;
  • periodic reviews of our technical security.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to pose a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority within the legally required timeframe.

Where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to you, we will also inform you.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have several rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate personal data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • restrict the processing of your personal data;
  • object to processing;
  • receive your personal data in a portable format;
  • withdraw previously given consent.

You can submit a request by emailing info@voltapp.nl.

We will generally respond within four weeks. In some cases, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity.

If you disagree with how we process your personal data, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when we change our website or services, add new functionality, or when laws and regulations change.

The date at the top of this page indicates when the privacy policy was last updated.

We recommend reviewing this privacy policy periodically.

Analytics, cookies and consent

We use Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd.) to manage measurement and analytics tools. Analytics and marketing cookies are only placed after you consent through the cookie banner (Google Consent Mode v2). Without consent, we do not place these cookies.

  • Google Tag Manager: Loads and manages the tools below. Tag Manager itself does not set cookies.
  • Google Analytics 4: Insight into how the website is used (pages visited, traffic source, device) and measuring waitlist signups and demo requests. IP addresses are not stored. Data is retained for 14 months.
  • Microsoft Clarity: Aggregated heatmaps and session recordings to improve usability. Form input is masked. Data is retained for up to 13 months.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag: Only with consent to marketing cookies. Gives us anonymised insight into the job functions, industries and company sizes of visitors, and lets us show visitors ads on LinkedIn later. LinkedIn keeps this data for up to 180 days.
  • Cal.com: When you book a demo, Cal.com processes your name, email address and any notes to schedule and confirm the meeting.

Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn and Cal.com may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where needed, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

We store your choice for 6 months in the volt_consent cookie, and your language choice in the volt_lang cookie. These functional cookies are needed for the website to work.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via cookie settings.
